Kumar Madhurendra Kishor

Kumar Madhurendra Kishor is a thinker, observer, and storyteller shaped by real-life journeys across disciplines and geographies. Joining the Indian Air Force at just 17, he spent 11 transformative years in uniform. The military gave him more than discipline—it offered a front-row seat to the emotional complexities of distance, duty, and silent sacrifices in relationships.

Transitioning to the banking sector, Madhurendra now serves as Chief Manager at Union Bank of India. His career took him to 34 cities across India, giving him rare insights into the cultural threads that shape families and marriages. What began as passing observations soon deepened into a quest: Why do some marriages endure while others crumble quietly?

Why does love fade even among those who mean well?

His debut book, Marriage Where Soup Is Better Than Dessert, is a heartfelt exploration of how early experiences and societal conditioning shape marital life. Through moving reflections and relatable insights, this book explores how our childhood wounds, family patterns , emotional blind spots, and unmet needs silently shape our marriages. Blending personal insight with lived observations, the book offers what it truly means to build a lasting bond in fast changing world.

When he isn’t working or writing, Madhurendra finds solace in books, nature, singing and soulful conversations. It marks the beginning of a literary journey rooted in truth and empathy, inviting readers to look within and reimagine what makes a marriage truly fulfilling.

This book is not a manual, but a mirror drawn from life, written from the heart.
